I had been a Christian for many years, when it occurred to me, that I didn't know anyone who reminded me of Jesus Christ (including myself). I've known many sweet and dear people, but no one who brought Christ to mind without saying His name. It then occurred to me that there was one clear exception, Oswald Chambers. Although I know him only through his writing, no other writer reminds me so much of our Lord. What an opportunity lies before us.

Excellent Book!

I teach Vocal Pedagogy and I am so excited to use this book next fall! The writing and illustrations are clear and thorough and I love the holistic approach: taking into account mental/emotional health along with all the other topics. The inclusion of chapters on Alexander Technique, Acupuncture, Yoga for Singers is top-notch. I also appreciate the chapters on CCM techniques and the reports by coaches in the field in both London and New York. What a welcome and refreshing addition to my vocal ped library!

not just for singers !

Do not let the title fool you ! This text has valuable information for doctors, singers, speech pathologists and any professional that needs to nurture and preserve their speaking voice . With the combination of eastern/western medicine, along with homeopathy, this book in genious. Dr. Jahn is an excellent doctor and this book is truly a spot on example of his unique approach to patient care. The book has collected a variety of treatment ideas from a wide range of professionals , and all chapters are not only interesting but valuable. I learned information not only for the clients I treat as a speech pathologist, but for my own speaking voice when I lecture for other professionals. Highly recommended for a wide audience way beyond the professional singer .

A little bit disappointing

I bought this book because it is about a very interesting subject of the 60s motor racing scene. It shows an attractive layout and contains lots of rare pictures not to be found elsewhere which makes the purchase worthwhile. But the information is a little bit disappointing. There is few more than a chronological description of the races which the Scuderia attended and the cars and the drivers. These facts you can find elsewhere. The book contains hardly background information which cannot be found in other sources. In addition there are more but a few errors about the facts. After all: My English isn't perfect but the author's isn't either.

As a whole considering the price a little bit disappointing and no more than 3 stars.

The Scuderia Filipinetti fantastic story happend in probably the best era of car racing...the sixties. The only ecurie to enter (sometimes in the same event)cars from the three big rivals, Ferrari, Ford and Porsche! Ed Heuvink take you with extreme details into the cars, the races and the drivers of that unique Swiss racing team. I was very lucky to be a mechanic at Le Mans in 1966, on the Scuderia Ford GT40. Those were magic years that I will never forget. Phil Henny

A very good introduction for engineers

This book gave me finally the possibility to grasp fourier optics. Thanks to the matlab examples it is much more accessible than all the pure mathematical textbooks.

Very finely written!

I think the goto for Fourier Optics is Goodman' s text. I am not saying that this book supersedes that book but I think this makes an excellent companion. There is something to be said for being able to "see" diffraction results. Something that is much hard to "see" from the purely analytic results found from working problems in Goodman's book. Voelz has done an excellent job in helping the student of Fourier Optics see what a diffraction pattern looks like from the comfort of a desk chair! Very good job sir.
